Lilydale Neighbourhood Watch

There were only about half our usual zone leaders at this month's meeting.

We are still looking into the purchasing of the
ultra-violet marking pens, which are to be used mainly in marking 'inside' appliances rather than using an
engraver.  For the marking of tools etc we still advise using an engraver.

We also discussed our end of year dinner and enquiries will be made and information will be brought back to our next meeting.

Police Report
· There were two separate incidents in Second River Road which involved assault, resisting
arrest and obstructing Police.  As these
offences were against the Police no property or other persons were affected.
· On 28th-29th August, on Second River Road, injury to property at a dwelling. Value $130.00
· On September 3rd at the same address as above, injury to property again.  Value $270.00
· On August 29th - 31st.  Persons unknown broke some louvre windows at the Community Centre.  Entry was not attempted.  Value $150.00

Suspicious Incidents
· About mid August in the Tunnel area, solar electric fence panels and batteries were stolen from a property.
· Horse rugs were stolen from an address in the Lebrina area.

At next month's meeting we hope to have a guest speaker from the
Fox Task Force.
Next meeting will be on October 9th at the new time
of 8 p.m. due to daylight saving being in.

Update:  The guest speaker from the Fox Task Force will be at the October meeting.  He will be speaking first up, before our actual meeting so we ask you to be on time.

Fascinating Facts
Pleasure Garden
The word 'paradise' comes from an old Persian word for a pleasure garden or a deer park. Not only the King had such gardens: many of the provincial governors, known as satraps, had them too.
Sinking City
Mexico City is built on top of an underground
reservoir. As wells draw out more and more water for the city's expanding population, the entire city is slowly sinking at the rate of 150-200 mm per year.
