CWA Notes

Attendance in October was low, but we had enough members present to hold our meeting - this began with Craft in the morning, shared lunch, followed by the business meeting.  Many reports were given.

Roll call provided a very large box of items to go in the Samaratins gift boxes.  Friendship sayings were swapped; over lunch unusual recipes were discussed - and swapped - pickled eggs, glogg, cooking with coke, vegetables baked in coke and French onion soup,
likewise chicken.

Glenys arrived with some beautifully knitted garments for the Baby Box, this was a lovely surprise.

The School Awards will once again be given to two Grade Nine pupils, these are the Encouragement Awards.

I know it doesn't seem very long ago that I was
reporting the impending visit of the Visually Impaired Society members, but it was a year ago - this year's visit is set for the 10th November.  The public is
welcome to attend the concert in the Memorial Hall after lunch; the concert is presented by the School
pupils.

"People who care about others, give the world its real beauty and life its real meaning"

The next Meeting will be 5th November at Norma Bardenhagen's.

On a Lighter Note:
It was a boring Sunday afternoon in the jungle so the Elephants decided to challenge the Ants to a game of soccer. The game was going well with the Elephants beating the Ants ten goals to nil, when the Ants gained possession.
The Ants' star player was dribbling the ball towards the Elephants' goal when the Elephants' left back came
lumbering towards him. The elephant trod on the little ant, killing him instantly.
The referee stopped the game. "What the hell do you think you're doing? Do you call that sportsmanship,
killing another player?"
The elephant replied, "Well, I didn't mean to kill him
I was just trying to trip him up"

Q: What does Tarzan say when he sees a herd of elephants in the distance?
A: "Look, a herd of elephants in the distance"
Q: What does Tarzan say when he sees a herd of elephants with sunglasses
in the distance?
A: Nothing. He doesn't recognize them.
Q: What does Tarzan say when he sees a herd of giraffes in the distance?
A: "Haha! You fooled me once with those disguises, but not this time!"
