Mary Walsh Centre

This month has brought us much rain and for this we prayed;as in many cases, the need was great and in some parts of our state, more is needed. In other parts homes have been flooded and there has been much damage done by floods elsewhere in  the state.

Our hearts and prayers are with those who have
suffered losses through flooding and our thanks goes to the Lord above who sent us the much needed rain, for which we pleaded, as we cannot live without it.

The rains have brought us green grass in the fields and the promise of things to come in our flower gardens where spring bulbs are getting ready to bloom once again.

Autumn has not long gone, but spring is just around the corner.

At the Day Centre Debbie and some of the ladies have been busy making suitable gifts to sell on a stall (which is usually held at the school) where the children are able to buy presents for their mothers and other loved ones. The takings from the sale are used to buy
materials needed to make further craftwork. This is an interest for many clients here and fills in time which would hang heavy on many of us and it is also an
interest.

On Tuesdays Darian has a quiz for each of us to do, which helps to keep our brains working and often
becomes a talking point.

Last Tuesday, after the Uniting Church luncheon which we attended, we had a sing-a-long of the hymns we loved, back at the centre. This was led by Rev. Brian Cole and was enjoyed by many.

          Life is a beautiful garden
Made of our days and years-
          It is always and changing
          As each new day appears,
And so in this beautiful garden
          Brightened by sunshine above
May you go through each day and gather
It's blossoms of joy and love.
