drops are suitable for treating dry eye so check with your pharmacist. Tear replacement products such as Liquifilm Tears, Vis-med or Poly-Tears can be used as often as necessary. If you use contact lenses, only some drops are suitable (e.g. Poly-Tears and Vis-med).
Eye drop bottles should be discarded one month after opening to prevent contamination; but if you need drops only now and again, products such as Vis-med or Refresh, which come as a box of single-use vials of artificial tears, are the ideal alternative. These drops contain no preservative, so they are also suitable for contact lens wearers.
Lubricating eye ointments are more effective, but can blur the vision, so they are usually only used at night.
Mary Walsh Centre News
Once again we would wish all our friends and loved ones a happy and contented year ahead without any trauma or unhappiness to spoil it. Time is passing by, but we cling together and share each others joys and sorrows. We trust that those who are absent because of illness will recover, and also know that our thoughts and prayers are with them and for them as they battle ill health.
Our Co-ordinator Darian is having a few weeks well earned rest from her labours here with us. We hope she will feel refreshed and ready to take over the responsibility of caring for us once again. Helen Chick has very ably filled in for while she was away. Debbie has come along on Thursdays and helped in any way that she could and Lorraine as always has provided us with great meals. To these three people and our drivers we say a big Thank You.
On Tuesday January 13th we went for a drive and visited the Cherry Farm at Underwood and bought some beautiful fruit to eat. We then travelled over Brown Mt Road to Karoola and came back through Lalla. On Thursday we gladly welcomed Enid Rainbow back to our midst and Louise Leslie ( Helen's daughter ) who works for the City Mission. She told us about the work done by the Mission to help those in need, especially Missiondale which helps many who are battling various addictions.
Being over 60 does have its advantages...
Kidnappers are not very interested in you. You can eat dinner at 4 p.m. You have a party and the neighbors don't even realize it. You no longer think of speed limits as a challenge.
