Tasmanian Regional Arts News:
The Philomena Hali Workshop held early November was an outstanding two days of fun, new ideas, creating and enjoyment of good company, what else could you ask for? Mt. Arthur Centre was a great venue, allowing us to spread out, work outside or in, with good facilities for workshops. I don't know if Philomena will return to Tasmania, but if she does we will put our name down for another workshop. I have just received two mail items, 'Ten Days on the Island' booklet and the 2003 Touring Program for Tasmanian Regional Arts. All contain information that ensures that 2003 is going to be a big year for the Arts in Tasmania.
'Ten Days' has some fantastic shows/exhibitions coming, some free, some at quite reasonable prices, some within easy travel from Lilydale, if you haven't received a copy check out the website: www.tendaysontheisland.org it will be a wonderful 10 days from 28th March.
Our touring program is also exciting, with the opportunity for Branches to bring top quality entertainment and exhibitions to our communities. The Village Green I.D. Project is progressing nicely and you should be seeing most of the installation going in during December.
We are rapidly coming to the end of our 2002 Arts year, with our AGM coming up in January, members will be receiving notification of this early in January. As usual, we start doing our statistics for the year for Head Office and are always surprised at what has been achieved over the past year, not all our work is visible and the Executive work hard to achieve good results. Thank you to the different organizations in Lilydale that have assisted us throughout the year, we value your support, and that's what makes Lilydale such a great community.
So, as this is the final Progressive for the year, from the Executive and Members of Tasmanian Regional Arts-Lilydale, thank you for supporting the Branch at workshops, performances, Lantern Walk etc, if you didn't come this year, we look forward to seeing you at something in 2003.
In the meantime, we wish you all A Safe and Happy Christmas.
