Hello from the Mt Arthur Centre
Dear All,
As the year draws to a close the board of the Mt
Arthur Centre would like to thank all the people in the Lilydale area for their support of the Centre.
It has been great to get to know some of you. My
intention for next year is to get to know a lot more of you and invite you to the Centre for various activities - or just a cup of tea! I'll be able to do this because of the volunteers who have kindly taken on the work in the office. So thank you very much, Kerry, Kerryn, Carol, Carol, Julie-Anne, Pat and last but by no means least Glenys.

(We are looking for a volunteer for a couple of hours once a week as a cleaning position at the Centre. If you're interested please let me know).

Our straw bale building, is going ahead nicely. Matthew Parnell our building lecturer from the Uni is leaving for the mainland to live in early Dec. and he and his family will be sorely missed by the Mt Arthur Centre. His contribution and enthusiasm to the straw bale activities have been an inspiration. Thank you Matthew. The community straw bale working bee days will be advertised at the PO and in the school newsletter if you would like to join in. We'd love to see you!

Is there anyone in the community who would like to join a sub-committee regarding suicide prevention? The Centre is hoping to have a 'worker' visit here for a day a week next year (they will come from Georgetown). The sub-committee will need to meet asap to discuss the needs of the Lilydale community in regards to
suicide prevention and what that means for this area. They will then meet with the person from Georgetown with a written proposal. (A meeting will be arranged at the Centre for an evening in early Dec.) If you are
interested please let me know.

The Centre will be closed from Christmas until
Tuesday, 3rd of February 2003. Have a great Christmas and New Year one and all.

For bookings, information or use of the Centre in
January please leave a message on the answering
machine. It will be checked regularly).

Cheers for now,
Maggie. 6395 1201.
