A message from the Acting  Principal
Rose Parker

Another school year is nearly at an end and I would like to take this opportunity, on behalf of the staff at Lilydale District School, to wish you all a happy festive season and a wonderful New Year.

My job this year as Acting Principal has certainly been an eye opener in more ways than one! I learnt things I didn't know, things I didn't think I needed to know, things I'll probably never need to know again and things I'd rather forget…  I will however, be returning to my Assistant Principal's role in 2004 and am looking forward to having my own classes again.

In my five years at Lilydale I have become
extremely fond of the students at your school. They are friendly, trustworthy and generally well behaved. They have always made me feel welcome and that what I do is worthwhile.

The staff has been wonderful and you can rest
assured that the students in this community have been in good hands. I cannot remember working with a more professional and dedicated group in my 20+ years of teaching. Helen French will
return next year as Principal and she should be
delighted with the teachers and support staff she will be working with.

Once again, have a wonderful summer and I look forward to working with many of you, and your
children, next year .

HALLOWEEN FAIR

Our Halloween Fair on Friday, 31st October was great!

Mind you, the day didn't start off too well.  The rain started about 9.30 and a light drizzle quickly turned into steady rain.  Stalls were moved inside and new signs made to
direct customers in the right directions.  Emergency
tarpaulins were put up and everyone scrambled for
raincoats and umbrellas.  And in the middle of it all, we had to evacuate to the Hall because the fire alarms went off!

The House of Horrors run by the 6/7 classes was a huge success and they scared a variety of ages with  wet
spaghetti and frightening faces which caused many squeals and screams.

Other  attractions  included the jumping castle, putt putt golf, handball competition, Circatron, dodgem cars and the fashion parade.

Everyone had heaps to eat and the cake stall was a great success.  Thank you to all those who supported us on the day.
