11.00a.m on Wednesday 2 April, at the home of Frea Peschar, 205 Lalla Road, Lalla.  Branch Members or those willing to join are always welcome.

Coming events:
Mandala Journey Workshop-Mt Arthur Centre, April 26th from 10.00 a.m.   Response to this has been great and the workshop is now fully booked, with some people having to be placed on a waiting list, in the event that cancellations should occur.  If you have missed out and would really like to go on a "Mandala Journey", please notify Frea (63 95 1364) or Carol (63 95 1263).  If enough people register an interest we may be able to arrange for a second workshop to be held later in the year.  For those of you who have lost your list of things to bring to the workshop: 2B pencil, smock, lunch, scissors, notebook, coloured pencils, a found object special to you, e.g. leaf, stone, shell, pressed flower etc.

Lantern Walk - Friday June 20th.  We plan to have a Lantern Making workshop on June 7 at Frea's place, starting at 10.00 a.m.  At the moment we do not have a lantern making expert to instruct us, and there are no lantern making library books in the whole of Tasmania.  (We know, because we checked!)  So, if you have any knowledge of, or literature about lantern making, please let us know.  This year we are trying to get away from the handheld lanterns, which are something of a safety hazard, because they are often held close to the child's face, but concentrate instead on the ones that are suspended from a stick.  They can be made from milk or juice cartons or perforated tins, all they need is a wire loop at the top, and a stick with a hook at the end.  (See drawing at right).

Mountain of Talent Art Exhibition - October, 2003.  This event may seem to be too far in the future to mention, but planning ahead for your exhibits is
always a good idea.  So, we will keep reminding you of this important event every month.  You have been warned!

A pleasant day was spent by some of our Committee members at the Lion's "Dogs Day Out", held on March 2.  Our stall made no profit whatsoever, but the weather was great, the company - both canine and
human - was entertaining.  We still have about 30 wooden plaques for children to paint, and I am sure they will come in useful on later occasions.

I have it from reliable sources that the Valley Voices are planning an old-fashioned Variety Concert,
featuring, of course, the Choir itself, but also local
instrumental and vocal talent.  A tentative date has been set for September, but as things are still in the very early planning stages, anything may happen to change this.
All I can say is - keep watching this space. - Frea
