MT Arthur Centre
Hello everyone. In the last newsletter I mentioned the prices for hiring the Centre. The board have decided to keep these prices the same as last years; they are:
Community Groups, $5.00 per hour (for groups who wish to use the Centre for a non money
making activity).
General public, $20.00 per hour, $50.00 per half day, $50.00 per evening, and $100.00 per full day. (In winter we ask that a fee of $2.00 per hour per heater is given as this is what we were told the heaters cost to run). A deposit is required as soon as possible after a booking is made to secure the booking. If you haven't had the opportunity to see inside the Centre but would like to, please don't be shy and come and say hello so you can judge for yourself what a lovely facility we have here in
Lilydale!
The board have decided to have a few fundraising
activities to pay for the day to day running costs of the Centre. We will need people to get behind these
activities if they are to be successful, therefore we would like to invite anyone who can spare either time or donations of goods towards these activities -
anything would be gratefully received - to do so.
Otherwise please put these dates in your diary and come and enjoy the fun.
A wood raffle will be held outside one of the major
supermarkets and ticket sellers for Saturday April 12th will be needed.
A garage sale, mini market, produce stall day will be held at the Centre on Saturday May 10th. We will need lots of things to sell (clean out your shed!), and some produce (if you have any to donate). We will also need volunteers to help with the stalls.
A Quiz night will be held on Friday 6th June. For this occasion we will need volunteers to help set up the Centre with tables and chairs, supper and the clean up. Anyone who can donate a prize for this evening would be most appreciated.
We also have an opportunity to do a sausage sizzle outside one of the major hardware stores. Not sure which one at this stage, Paula Huett (our fundraising co-ordinator, board member) is still negotiating. For this day we will need some volunteers to cook the sausages and onions - even for an hour would be great - but because we still don't have a date we may need to send out an S.O.S any day soon.
If you can do a little towards any of these events, please contact the Centre and put your name down, that way we can spread the load, pay our bills and get to socialise all at the same time - win, win, win!!
We are also going to trial an 'ideas evening' at the Centre on the 1st Wednesday in the month. We imagined that people might like to bring something to
